Police officers from the Tangier Police Prefecture, working in close coordination with Morocco’s General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST), arrested a woman on Saturday afternoon on suspicion of possessing and trafficking narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
The suspect was apprehended in one of Tangier’s neighborhoods while allegedly caught in the act of drug trafficking. A search operation led to the seizure of 7,600 prescription narcotic pills of various types, in addition to an amount of cash suspected to be proceeds from the alleged criminal activity.
The suspect has been placed in police custody as part of a judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. The investigation aims to determine all the circumstances surrounding the case, identify any potential criminal network linked to the activity, and establish the responsibilities of all those involved.
