The Maghogha district of Tangier is preparing to host the third edition of the Maghogha Festival of Excellence and Creativity, scheduled from July 26 to 30, 2026, under a theme promoting academic excellence, youth development and local community action, as part of the celebrations marking Morocco’s Throne Day.
The festival will open on Sunday, July 26, near the Youth Training and Integration Center in Maghogha with an official ceremony featuring the Moroccan national anthem, speeches by organizers and partners, artistic performances, a children’s carnival and the inauguration of a visual arts exhibition showcasing the creativity of young local artists.
Environmental awareness also occupies a central place in this year’s programme. On Monday, July 27, participants will take part in an educational environmental outing to the “Darna” educational garden on Achakar Road, aimed at promoting civic responsibility and environmental protection. On Tuesday, July 28, the Youth Training and Integration Center will host a roundtable discussion entitled “Youth and Community Work: Between Reality and Impact”, focusing on the challenges and opportunities facing young people involved in civil society initiatives.
The cultural programme will continue on Wednesday, July 29, with the screening and discussion of a youth-oriented film addressing issues affecting younger generations. The festival will conclude on Thursday, July 30, with a closing ceremony featuring musical performances, tributes to distinguished local and national personalities and an awards ceremony honoring outstanding students from the Maghogha area in recognition of their academic excellence.
Through this third edition, the Maghogha Festival of Excellence and Creativity seeks to strengthen cultural, educational and social engagement while encouraging youth participation and supporting community-based initiatives that contribute to the development of Tangier.
